Be a Homesteader for a Day:
The Ultimate Shadow
Experience!

Do you dream of the homestead life but wonder if you’re truly ready for the reality? Don’t just watch it on a screen—live it!

Homesteading is beautiful, rewarding, and deeply fulfilling—but it is also a lot of work. Before you buy the land or the livestock, come spend a full, 16-hour day with me at Everything Homemade. You will shadow me through every chore, every challenge, and every triumph of a typical day on the farm.

From the 5:00 AM wake-up call to the 9:00 PM final barn check, you’ll get a "boots-on-the-ground" education on what it truly takes to run a self-sufficient homestead.

Your 16-Hour Journey:

  • The Morning Rush (5:00 AM – 9:00 AM): Depending on the season, we start in the dark or light! Experience the early morning milking, poultry chores, gardening and getting the farm systems moving for the day.

  • The Heart of the Day: Depending on the season, we might be gardening, processing compost, managing the worm bins, or repairing fences. You’ll see the "behind-the-scenes" tasks that never make it into the photos.

  • Livestock Management: Learn the rhythm of moving animals, checking health, and managing the different needs of cows, geese, ducks, chickens, and quail.

  • In the Kitchen: See how we manage the "harvest" throughout the day—from preserving garden goods to handling fresh dairy.

  • The Evening Tuck-In (after supper to 9:00 PM): Close out the day with the final feedings, egg collection, and evening gardening.
